Fire Hose Reel Signage — What the Fire Code Requires

Clause 6.2 of the SCDF Fire Code 2023 requires hose reels located in recesses or cabinets to bear the appropriate sign in accordance with SS 508. This fire hose reel sign uses the standard white-on-red firefighting equipment symbol so occupants can locate the reel at a glance.

Under SS 508, sign size follows viewing distance: choose a symbol of at least 60mm for viewing distances up to 6 metres, and at least 150mm where the sign must be read from 12 metres or more.
